Telepass SAT Devices: Over-The-Air (OTA) massive update for Denmark EETS service

Published on 11.06.2024, by Déborah Haddab

From November 11, 2024, a configuration update will be sent via Over-The-Air (OTA) to all Telepass SAT Arianna 2 and Telepass SAT K1 devices. This update is an essential step in preparation for the launch of the Denmark EETS Service (European Electronic Toll Service), which will be available for these devices in January 1, 2025 (the launch date will be confirmed in the coming weeks).

What You Need to Know:

Denmark EETS Service and Scandinavian Toll Service (including the Storebelt and Øresund bridges) will be considered separate services within Danish territory.

Once the update is received, if the vehicle is in Danish territory, the OBUs LED will behave, in accordance with what is stated in the user manual in the section on status LEDs, as follows:

  • Denmark EETS Service Active and Scandinavian Toll Service Active: Always green led
  • Denmark EETS Service Inactive and Scandinavian Toll Service Inactive: Always red led
  • Denmark EETS Service Active and Scandinavian Toll Service Inactive: Green led in Denmark territory except in the vicinity of the Bridges when the device will show red led
  • Denmark EETS Service Inactive and Scandinavian Toll Service Active: Red led in Danish territory except in the vicinity of the Bridges when the device will show green led.

In case the OTA configuration update is not received by the OBU, the following scenarios will occur:

  • Denmark EETS Service Active and Scandinavian Toll Service Active: Green led in Denmark territory and near the Bridges
  • Denmark EETS Service Inactive and Scandinavian Toll Service Inactive: Red led in Denmark territory and near the Bridges
  • Denmark EETS Service Active and Scandinavian Toll Service Inactive: Red led in Denmark territory and near the Bridges
  • Denmark EETS Service Inactive and Scandinavian Toll Service Active: Green led in Denmark territory and near the Bridges

Important Reminders:

The red LED could also indicate issues unrelated to service activation, such as a technical anomaly. In such cases, please refer to the emergency procedure to avoid penalties.

No action is required from our customer or driver during the OTA update. The device can continue to be used for toll payments as usual.

The update will be rolled out gradually, meaning devices will receive the update over the course of several weeks. Not all devices will update on the same day.

We recommend monitoring your device to ensure the update is received in time for the launch of the Denmark EETS service. For any further clarification or support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
