From 2026, the Netherlands will introduce a new distance-based toll system for all trucks over 3.5 tonnes.

Charges will be calculated based on the distance travelled, vehicle weight, and CO₂ emission class, encouraging the use of cleaner and more efficient vehicles.

All trucks operating in the country will need EETS-certified On-Board Units (OBUs) compatible with the new system.
